Online Debriefing

"Psych Nation," congratulations on completing the AP Psychology test. It has been a real journey and I know the overwhelming majority of you "executed," and did not "expire."

I am requesting, as your final blog post, that you (a) discuss what the AP Psychology testing experience was like for you compared to taking other AP tests (think about your readiness, comfort, confidence, etc) and (b) discuss "what was helpful (resources/strategies) for you in preparing you for the AP Psychology Exam." Think about the essential question, did you feel like you were prepared for the test, and if so, what helped you? If you feel like you were not prepared, why not, and did you do your part to be prepared?

Remember, when comparing the AP Psych Exam to other AP tests, do not mention other AP subjects, exams, or teachers by name. No one is on trial and our job is not to be negative or point the finger. Please and thank you!

Last year's comments will remained posted in case any of you are confused.

LASTLY

YOU ARE NOT PERMITTED TO DISCUSS ANY TESTING SPECIFICS, OF ANY KIND, CONCERNING TEST QUESTIONS, TEST ANSWERS, SUBJECT MATTER, CASE SCENARIOS OR ANY OTHER ITEMS LISTED ON THE 2010-2011 AP PSYCHOLOGY TEST. PLEASE KEEP YOUR POST GENERAL AND ONLY DISCUSS THE EXPERIENCE. Thanks!

I am asking that all post be submitted by Friday, 5/24/11 8:30pm.

See me for questions.

The AP psych test wasnt that hard in my opinion. I dont think i studied as hard as i could have, or as long as i could have but im pretty sure i received a 3 or higher. The test in itself was a breeze, the multiple choice anyway. it was just like any other practice exam taken in the class. I recognized at least 80% of the material and i was kind of surprised at how much i knew. The essay however, was extremely hard for me. it was a chapter that i wasn't too familiar with.
I mostly studied using the list given of all the important key terms.

  2. Kevin Mazariegos,
First of, you've made a great choice in taking the AP Psychology course. The AP Psychology exam wasn't any different than the practice tests Mr. Jones gave me, so I was quite comfortable because it was quite easy. I recognized a good 90 percent of the entire test, so I'm expecting a four or a five. This course is different from any other AP course because you flow with the information that you learn. What I know worked for me was following what Mr. Jones was teaching with the Barron's book and reinforcing the vocabulary with the Barron's study cards. I hope this helps and Good Luck with your "Psych Nation" experience!

  3. I love this class so much. It was AWESOME! The AP exam, I felt was easy as pie. I felt totally prepared for it. In the beginning of the year I hit the ground running. The ball was always in my court and I rarely dropped it. I was always the group member telling everyone "20,80". I always did my vocab cards in advanced so I always knew the material in the chapter before we even began. Although I used a bit of everything to study, my weapon of choice was the Barrons book. I had my own so my book was totally vandalized by the end of the year. Also to study closer to the exam's date I used Quizlet and Alley Dog a lot. I totally recommend the AP REVIEW. I went and it was amazing. I learned many mnemonic devices that helped me remember a lot. Before the exam I was seriously worried that I'd choke because I started to feel overwhelmed. However during the test I felt so calm like, my life's purpose was to take the test and pass. Im so confident that I passed. I think I did great on the MC and just took it home with the essays.I had took other AP classes before this but I wasnt prepared for it so I failed miserably. I dont know if it was my interest in the subject, my amazing teacher, Mr. Jones, the study material or a combination of the three that motivated me in becoming a PYSCH SUPERSTAR but taking this class was a great way to end my senior year.seeing how all the factors were right...the right period, friends, teacher, and subject im totally happy to have tooken this class when I did. I totes did it in game seven!

AP Psychology class was very interesting for me and it tough me a lot about people and just what surrounds me. the first few tests we took i was thinking it is not that hard but the last practice test proof me opposite so the final week i practice and practice all day long non stop and end of the week i felt that i remember everything easily and when test day came i was confident because in knew that i did everything that was required for me to do to pass the test... I hope ii pass because i spend so much time to learn and study... i was using the flashcard and just reading AP Psychology Barrons book and just that and maybe once a week i took online practice quizes, test and just review... that helped me a lot...

  5. Hello :)

Compared to other AP tests, the psychology test was very simple and fairly easy to understand because it didn't have too many parts to it. As long as you study and prepare yourself as much as possible then you would do good. The most helpful tools for preparing for the exam were taking notes during powerpoints in class, alleydog.com, and my vocabulary cards. I was not as prepared as i could have been for the test because i did not take the time to study alot and so i did not do my part to be prepared but hopefully i may still pass the test.

  6. The AP test wasn't all that difficult but the time matters so much. It was an experience that i will never forget. But taking this test does make me uncertain if i would take another AP course. I fell that all necessary material to pass the AP test was provided. The overview review packet helped me the most. Since it had the basic and most popular material on it.

  7. Heeeeeeey :) you can know the information and you can even memorize the information, but the only guarantee you have in passing this test is if you STUDY STUDY STUDY! baron cards! thats what helped me the most and probably help most of you guys, its interesting course i personally loved it! But it has to be taken seriously, i've taken 4 AP tests my entire school life and AP psychology test is by far the easiest, not only because Mr. jones is a great teacher but because there was allot to study from and it was simply simple. work hard. study hard. and pass that test!!!!!!!
    Sincerely, Isis :)

  8. This AP exam was different from other AP exams I have taken. This one in particular was simple. I recognized more material than I expected. I just wish I would have studied on the daily basis instead of when I needed to. The little study sessions in class with the Baron cards helped. Also the Baron's book helped me understand the material more in my terms. Another thing that helped prepare me was those practice tests which gave me an insight on which areas I needed to improve on.

  9. I feel as though the AP test was not less hard or harder than i expected. I feel like you go in expecting a lion and you end up seeing a pit bull. I mean neither one is pleasent but i'd rather have a pit bull staring back at me than a lion. I feel confident in my score because i was very prepared for this test. This was my first AP exam. I feel like i was very prepared because i studied my barons cards religiously and also went to the AP camps on the weekend that not only gave me vital information but also great extra credit. During he test i was shocked, relieved , and finally finished. This was also the only test that i went back to check my answers which was good because i marked a different answer from what i wanted on one question. I recommend studying the barons cards and staying focused on the task at hand.

  10. The Psychology AP Exam was much more comforting than the last exams that I have taken because the amount of confidence the other students had, made me feel confident as well. This exam wasn't a boring subject exam such as English or Math which really made me feel comfortable at the testing area. I felt I was very prepared thanks to the packet that you gave us with all of the key terms and important peole on it. I studied that packet like crzay and made marks all over it. I think I did fairly well because I studied a lot and tried my hardest!!!

  11. In Novemeber I decided to change my seventh period to AP Psychology, and I have to say that it is the most interesting and fun class I've ever encountered. The class gave me broader knowledge on psychology, and how it isn't just therapy sections, but a explanation for the human behavior and composition. Although at the beginning of taking the course I wasn't comfortable nor aware of the material, but in a short period of time I've became familiar with some information pertaining to psychology. Just using studying methods such as the Barron's cards and Book, as well as note from Mr. Jones and indivisual or group presentations the class had. Also the website Mr. Jones provided us with such as alleydog.com and psychnation.blogspot.com was very beneficial in learning and preparing for the AP test. By the way, the AP Psychology test wasn't the way I expected it to be (hard), and I considered it to be easier in contrast, to Dianosic exams we take daily. Although I felt like if I became more in depth, with learning psychology at the beginning of the course I wouldn't had nothing to worry about, and I hope this will be a lesson to future Psychology students!

  12. The AP Psychology Test wasn’t as difficult as I presumed; it was fairly SIMPLE. There wasn’t much to it; I sat, I performed, & now hope for the best. Compared to my other AP testing experiences, this one wasn’t much different.
The Barron’s Book & Flashcards were the most helpful of all resources. In my opinion, one can pass the AP exam solely using these two resources, Myers’ Book….not so much.
To be honest, I didn’t feel sufficiently prepared enough to face this test, due to LAZINESS & PROCRASTINATION(recurrent negative for me this year) but I think I held a confident 3-4.
GOOD LUCK TO THE FUTURE PSYCH NATION SOLDIERS…TRULY YOURZ D-JONES.

  14. My name is Juan Loayza, and I can honestly say that out of the 8 AP exams I have taken, I felt like this one was the easiest. Not because of its content or complexity, but because of my preparedness. Looking at the test sitting in front of me was just like a joke; Opening the test was more like a giggle; and reading the first question was a burst into laughter. Being the valedictorian of my class, I never liked failing. Every AP test I took, I committed myself to passing it, even if I didn’t have a good teacher. Studying for this test was easy, and making the test bleed was easier! It felt like I had been studying the whole year. The material I used for studying the most was the Barron’s book and the Barron’s flashcards.

  15. This was my first AP test that I've taken. It was pretty hard but I think I did good, because Mr. Jones prepared us very well. It is important to pay attention in class. Try to study as much as you can, and do all the vocabulary cards. The vocabulary cards are easy to carry with you and a fun way to study whenever you have some free time. The Barron's book as well, was very helpful in preparing me for the test. I also found quizlet as a good way of learning the vocabulary. Start reading the material early, little by little, that way you won't have to stress as much in the end of the year when you're getting close to the test. This is a very interesting and fun class. Wish you an exciting year as you're learning psychology from the best teacher!
Best of luck to you :)

  16. Hi! My name is Denys Ivasechko! This is my second AP exam that I took. I like psychology and Mr. Jones is a great teacher. I studied throughout the year using the Barron`s book(really helpful). Also, a lot of information was discussed in the class. When I studied I was recognizing the terms in real life and they became much better in understanding. The AP Psychology exam felt really good, comparing to my last year AP class exam. On this exam I felt ready and confident. Also, mental focus in which Mr. Jones takes you is really helps! It gives you an inspiration to be a champion and execute on your final mission!
Best Wishes and Good Luck Psych Soldiers! :D

  17. WHOA ok the AP test was similar to the practice test that we took prior to it. I must say it wasn't as difficult as i thought it was going to be. As long as you know your stuff you will be fine. I regret not putting more effort into my studying time. I took my AP cards for granted, especially since most of the test and essay consisted of vocabulary. I now realize that i could of actually done way better. Hopefully i did good.
The AP terms cards are a really good studying tool.

  18. AP Psychology is, without a doubt, one of the best courses you'll ever take. Mr. Jones is a great teacher and, if you follow the material that he teaches, you are guaranteed to pass. I felt very confident in the AP test and it wasn't that different from the practice tests that Mr. Jones used to give in class. I was actually pleasantly surprised when I realized that I knew almost everything on the test. Even though my other AP class was very easy because it was about my first language, I can honestly say that this test wasn't too challenging compared to the other one and that's the good thing about it.
Personally, I learn better when I hear people explaining things and the fact that I followed so closely in class helped a lot. I also took time to do the online quizzes, review the Barron's cards, the Barron's book, and the "Idiot's guide to psychology". These things helped a whole lot so take it seriously when Mr. Jones is doing the study sessions in class.
I absolutely adored this class and I hope that you will too. Don't let stress get to you. Just pay attention in class and use the resources given to you and you will succeed. Good luck to all :)

  19. I have a lot to say about this class as a whole. That and the AP exam, but don't worry, I'll be discrete about it.

This class has taught me a lot, and like I told Mr. Jones, it has given me the most confidence a class has ever had in hopes of passing the class itself and the AP exam. And I agree with Angelie, the AP exam was very similar to the practice tests that we took, especially the collegeboard one. I'm glad that I studied over that one before taking the exam, cause that gave me a definite advantage over everything else.

Thank you for everything Mr. Jones, and I'm going to miss you and your teaching style when I graduate.

  20. I would also like to add: The Barron's book(well, at least the CD in the book) is a definite boost and thats what helped me so much on the AP exam. If anything, I would recommend Barron's to pretty much anybody taking an AP class period. It's sort of underestimated(even by me for a long time). And once I tried it, I started to regret never really trying it last year.

A thanks to you too, Barron's.

  21. From my perspective, the examination was a lot easier than I had initially expected. I think the rigor of the test wasn't as challenging as it should have been, and I think this observation was in part due to my substantial amount of exposure to similar questions on classroom practice test. Despite the various resource that were made available to me through Mr. Jones, I only utilized the AP Barron's study guide and the Quizlet website. Overall, taking the exam was a smooth process because I felt overly prepared going into the test thanks to Mr. Jones. Personally I think that if you take really good notes, take advantage of all the extra study sessions and review camps like I did, you should be just fine. This course could open your mind up to greater possibilities, but only if you allow it to. Good luck to all of the newest members of Psych Nation and make the best of your time while taking this course....It really pays off in the end!

  22. This is Nicole Norteman's Thoughts:My thoughts on the exam as a whole was that it was much easier than expected, especially compared to past exams I have taken. Mr. Jones prepared me and psych nation incredibly well. So well that the exam as virtually “a breeze”. During this class you are given ample resources and they are all very good in helping prepare for the exam. In my experience, I found simple good take taking during class, vocab cards, and STUDY TIME were the most effective. The most important thing I learned in this class as a whole is that you ultimately have to have faith, you have to believe that you can do it. With that and hard work, success will be yours.

Taking the AP test for me felt like just another test. Mr. Jones prepared us with all of those pretests that I felt as though it was just another one of those. Using the AP cards frequently really helped me remembering the information needed. I could literally hear the conversations my classmates and I had about the words. That was my biggest help. I wasn’t nervous at all and I feel pretty confident about my score. The only thing may have been the essay, I think we needed a bit more practice with those.

  24. This year in psych nation was really a life changing experience from the very first time i had stepped into the class it was all about getting ready for this exam. Not knowing how much i needed to study was foolish of me but towards the test it had hit me "DUDE GO STUDY" so i did. It took plenty of time for me to get all of this information down but studying at home then at school was a big help. The most important thing to me was the Barrons book & the two study packets he gave us. I felt that towards the end i was ready with the help of my friends. I hope that next year Mr.Jones will let you guys be black ops to go in & the test wont even know what happened because you guys will be done so quick. I wish all of you in the future the best luck of the ap gods.

  25. Well , I am personally a first year AP student so this whole experience was new to me. I had anxiety the whole year wondering if I could actually be prepared for something like this. In my other AP course I can't honestly say I believed in myself the way I believed in psych nation . To help prepare for the test I relied heavily on my barron's book it was my BESTFRIEND throughout the entire course and I also studied the various cram sheets given to us by Mr.Jones. On the day of the test me and my wing reviewed the numerous AP cards from the moment we stepped on campus until the moment we took the test. Remember to pace yourself throughout the exam and don
't get stress . Remain the hunter and not the huntee. Goodluck to the new members of psychnation .

  26. Geez! Taking the AP Psychology exam was very soothing compare to any other AP exam i've taken. During the exam, i was was completely calm and kind of stressed because i have studied but not studied enough. The resources that were helpful for me were the study packet and my wing. Mr Jones had us prepared for everything that was throwned at us he was a really helpful source also. Just remember to time your self and make sure to ACE the multiple choice. Bonne Chance (Goodluck) :)

  27. Well, This AP testing experience for me was actually one that i was looking foward to taking and felt i should of better prepared myself for it the months in advance that i was given. While i was testing i felt my fluid intelligence come to me as i breezed through the easy ones, did most of the moderate ones and used process of elimination for the difficult ones. The Barron's cards were actually very helpful, as well as the barron's book and the review packet (which i marked up to the fullest). I must say Mr.Jones prepared me and my classmates to the best of his abilities and it was up to us as AP psych soldiers to take the knowledge given to us and put it to use. Thank You Mr. Jones :)

  28. welcome to Psych nation, first of all this course is one of the BEST courses AP has to offer, however its not the simplest. Unless you study, the best study material is the Barons book which contains Many of the questions on the AP Psychology exam which are simply modified questions from years past. The books have many practice tests that will give you exposure to questions that will be very similar to the ones that you will encounter on exam day, so take two or three of them. It may not be fun, but it will be some of the best preparation that you can have for the AP Psych exam.

  29. Psych Nation ! I personal took this course this year and all i have to say is if you dont study daily it will be somewhat of a problem . This course was truly an amazing and one of the best classes i took my senior year. There was alot of work but its all to help you succeed. The item that helped me the most with taking this Ap test was the cards. I hope this helps you and enjoy this class to the fullest .

  30. The AP test was a hard test but I feel that I was prepared for it. In comparison to other AP tests I was most confident about this one. I feel that the barron's book and the cram sheets were the most helpful resources. Also studying a little bit everyday helped me remember the content.

I have to say that the AP is exactly what I expected to be...HARD! It was the only AP test that I've taken that I got genuinely nervous, but don't let that scare you. I only felt like that because I knew the material and just wanted to do well. I can guarantee that you will be fully prepared for the test. Mr. Jones will teach you everything you need to know. I feel like the Barron's book should be your best friend in that class and towards the end of the year the cram sheet will be your savior.
    Good luck

  32. So the AP Psych Test. If you did what you were supposed to do throughout the year you'll definitely be prepared. The biggest reason I would've felt less than confident was because it happened that I had to take another AP test right before this one on the same day, but even so, this was still one of the easier AP exams I've taken. If you stay ready, you don't have to get ready. The biggest resources for me were the Barron's book, Mr. Jones's notes, and the AP cards/Quizlet. There are so many great resources at your disposal, so why wouldn't you take full advantage of them? Going into the test, just be confident, don't be freaked out if you realize you don't know 100% of the content, but be secure that being in Mr. Jones's class, you still know more on the subject than 95% of people do.

  33. HEY PSYCH NATION!!!
The Psych AP exam was pretty difficult but i felt well prepared for it. The AP exam mostly contained vocabulary terms, if you knew the words than you would surely do good. I used the Barrons book alot to study as well as the AP cards. My wing (val) and I would study in class with the AP cards and make up little phrases or words in order to remember certain terms. At home i would use the Barrons book in order to get a clear understand of the chapter. Also paying good attention to Mr.Jones would definatly help you. Mr.Jones was a great teacher and his little phrases he uses really help to remember terms, for example "you'll never forget seeing a hipo on campus"....that was my favorite phrase and thats how i remembered the word hippocampus.
    THANK YOU MR.JONES!!!

  34. The AP test was as hard as i thought it would be, it's just a really big vocabulary test. If you study the AP Barrons card you'll be prepared. Compared to other AP test i felt most confident on this one. All that is required is for you to go into the test and be ready and expect to get a passing score. Another helpful tip is to get the Barrons book as soon as Mr.Jones tells you to,it really makes a difference and breaks everything down so the students can understand. Mr.Jones gives helpful phrases to remember. So all i can say is to pay attention in class don't fall behind and study study study. The essay portion is quite hard and some of the words you really may not no but just try your best and you'll be fine.
Mr.Jones is the best teacher for the job and i wish that he could of taught all my classes.Enjoy everyday with him because the year passes by so fast and before you no it the year will be over and you'll be writing one of these blogs just like me. GOOD LUCK!!! Remember try your best and stay focus,

  36. Hello psych nation.
The AP test is without doubt the easiest test, because its the easiest to prepare for. Sure you wont go into the class knowing everything, unless you've done you're own prior study, but its easy to learn there are a lot of little tricks to help you remember things, and the Barrons book and cards are the best source of information. I personally didn't use these too often because i didn't have them myself, which is what allows me to say that you need not worry. Mr. Jones will go over all the material needed, as long as you pay attention well in class you'll do fine, although its much easier to get a 5 or 4 when you use the Barrons items

This is my first year with two A.P classes.. During the 3rd and 4th quarter i began to have doubt thinking I wouldn't pass this test. But then I had to realize I am the only one who can direct that path for me with the choices I make.. So I continued to push until the end. This test was actually very easy. The test Mr.Jones gives us is harder the the actual test -_-. Helpful resources was the Barron's book, A.p cards close to the test day, and lastly my wing XOCHIL ORDONEZ. She helped push me and made sure I never gave up on myself and I thank her so much for that :). So yes i felt very prepared and comfortable i my knowledge of psychology.

This is one of the most interesting classes you will take with one of the most engaging teachers out there!
I didn't study everyday but i still felt very prepared for the AP exam. The Barrons cards helped a lot.
I have 3 other AP classes so there is no excuse not to be doing all your work and getting an A every quarter. This class wont wear you out.

  39. Hello new psych nation.

First off i'd like to congradulate you in your decision to become a psych nation member, you wont regret it. So now that you've joined i bet your excited for the a.p test right? It's okay i was a little scared at first to. When it comes down to the pysch test over all I personally felt a lot more comfortable then my previous a.p test. As long as you pay attention in class and study every once in a while to reinforce what you learned then you'll be fine. If you dont have a barrens book i suggest you buy one or find someone who has it from last year. It helped me tremendously. I wish i would have reviewed it over some more before the test though. At the end of the year you will be given review packets, dont neglect them they will make a great difference. And no matter what you do, do not start slacking off at the end of the year before the test! no matter how many a.p test you have make sure you set a side a few mins a day atleast to review some key words and people. You'll do great just stay confident and good luck(:

  40. Hello psych Nation,

To start of i would like to say this is one of the best courses to take, i've learned so much this year. I felt so confident while taking the AP exam. Mostly all we covered in class was on it. I felt very prepared for this exam thanks to Mr.jones and all the resources we had such as the Barrons book( Big help) and the handouts that were passed out , they helped me ALOT. Compared to other AP exams this one was the one i felt most comfortable taking. I can honestly say this was one of my favorite classes. I encourage anyone with the option of an A.P psych class to take it..you won't regret it..just requires effort in the studying but it's a fun and interesting course :)

  41. AP Psychology has to be the most interesting class I have ever taken in high school. Considering my passion for the class I think that's what drove me to be on my "A" game throughout the whole year especially during crunch time. The knowledge Mr.Jones gives in his lectures and powerpoints was encoded in my mind and that truly helped me succeed on the AP Exam. The AP Psychology exam was so much better than all the other AP exams I have taken because I felt totally prepared from Mr.Jones' consistent tutoring sessions, My Barrons Book, the AP Barrons cards, the AP Review they had at South Plantation, my wonderful wing AIYSHA LINDSAY pushing me to memorize every word (I really consider you to get a wing because it makes studying soo much easier!!), and the biggest resource MR.JONES and his expectations for you; he always saw something great in each one of his students and that really helps students out considering the pressure. I remember I started crying because I thought I wasn't ready for the exam and then my wing held my hand and gave me some words of encouragement (another good reason to have a wing). Don't freak out like I did because the test is nothing you aren't ready for, if you study. Mr.Jones is the best teacher for AP psychology & I promise he won't let you down.

  43. Hi Psych Nation.
When you here AP in front of a class you think is the hardest thing ever, let me tell you is like just any other class the difference is more a mature class and if you think you can't pass that test your wrong if you study with the right materials and you do what Mr. Jones say you will do fine. When i first got into that testing room i expected the hardest question ever and the hardest test, when i looked at the questions they were all familiar to me, most of the questions are long so make sure you eat something that won't make you got to sleep. The Barron's book was my best friend it was my main help for this test 3 weeks before the exam the study guides that Mr. Jones give you are really helpful. Last thing you have to believe that you can do it and don't be afraid to take an extra step in your future.

  44. Ap Psychology is one of the most inetersting classes in the school that I have taken in all my school years. It isn't that much of a hard class considering how much stuff you learn. But you must have a Barron's book and you must do the the vocab cards and study and use all the resources. Choosing a wing is also a very important task because you would need them to keep you on task. Don't make the same I made by choosing a wing that isn't that good and you need a wing that is a about business. If you follow all these steps you will do just find in this class and will have alot of fun also.

  45. In comparison to my other AP exams I've taken, this was by far the easiest. What made it the easiest was the constant reviewing we did in class. I was fully prepared for the exam when it came around. Besides being easy for me, it was the most interesting class I've taken throughout High School. I enjoyed pretty much every day and every day I learned something new. I'm glad I took this class this year and I'm glad Mr. Fernandez-Jones was the teacher because his teaching style made everything easier to learn and remember. The resources I used all year were just the Barron's book, the review packet and the cram packet. I never used Quizlet, I never did the vocabulary, I just found that the Barrow s book was the key, it had everything I needed. Also, creating the questions at the end of the year helped to refresh my memory and challenge myself. I was fully prepared for this exam.

The Barrons Book Is Something That Really Helped Me Through Out The Whole Course . I Felt Like I Was Prepared Beacause All The Information That Was Taught , Was On The Test.

  47. Mr.Jones and I are like family and I enjoy every moment that we have shared together. When I heard the name AP Psychology I thought that it was going to be about looking into people minds and learning to alter them to benefit you. I learned a lot from the time I spent in the class but would have learned more if I hadn't skipped. That was the biggest mistake of the class I made.

To me the way to succeed in this class is to study and have a "Wing" (Chantel) who is dependable. Don't wait to the last minute to try to cram everything in because you will be scared to take the AP test.

This year could've been successful if I would've tried harder.

  48. Hi Psych Nation! You are lucky to be in AP psychology. It was the best and most interesting AP class I've taken thus far. The thing that helped me the most was the Barron's cards. I studied them a lot days before the AP test. I felt I knew a lot of information on the test and I am pretty confident about my AP score. Mr. Jones is a really good and understanding teacher. This year I was dealing with a lot of health problems and Mr. Jones understood and let me make up the work. He's a really good teacher and you'll enjoy the class.

  49. When I walked into the testing site, I knew my score depended completely on me. Mr. Jones had given me the tools and materials to pass the test not with a 3 but with a 5. I'm not going to say it's easy, because it's not. It's simpler to understand if you know your stuff, but if you dont..... your in trouble. AP Psychology compared to other classes is exceptional. It helps us in every day life and prepares us for the future. When you guys are preparing for the test, make sure to keep your wing by you at all times. Take the Barron's Cards with you everywhere you go and for a couple days make the Cram Sheet your new religious text. It'll be worth it when you pass.

I must admit that taking this course was an amazing experience. I feel that the the psychology AP test was one of the easiest AP test I have ever taken. Not because the class itself is easy, but because it is so interesting that you want to try and do what you need to do to pass the AP exam. I felt pretty comfortable and ready when I walked into that room to take my exam. I was taught everything I needed to know for this exam literally. All that was left was to study. I can honestly say that, hopefully, that was my most successful AP exam.
What i found the most helpful throughout this whole school year was the Barron's book. That book was like my best friend this whole school year. I loved it because it had everything I needed to know and it went straight to the point so I was able to grasp and remember what i needed to remember. I would highlight and write side notes and then go back and review them. I think the Barron's book is the best method to pass the AP exam you just have to take the time to read it.

  51. This was my very first AP class and AP. Overall, I believe the test was very easy, because I was really prepared for it. Even though during the last couple of days before the test I felt EXTEREMLY NERVOUS. On the day of the test I noticed that my hands were trembling very badly, but as soon as I opened the test I felt amazing because I knew MOST of the things that was on the test. The resources that help the most were The Barrons Book and the Cram Test Sheets. When I would go over the Cram sheets and I didnt understand something I would go into the Barron's Book to get a better understanding of it. My tips for the next Psychology class is to: STUDY, STUDY, STUDY as uch as you can!

What can I say? This course is an amazing and fun
experience. The AP Psychology test isn't hard, as long you study and prepare yourself. The class itself isn't boring either, in fact you will laught from time to time. I mostly use the Barron's book and cards to study for my Ap exam. But don't worry Mr.Jones will prepare you for the Exam. I have no idea how to end this quote sooooooo.......The End

  53. Hey Psych Nation !
When I looked at my schedule the first day of school and saw AP Psychology, I instantly started freaking out. I thought I was going to have to do so much work like previous years in other AP classes I had. The funny thing is that this class wasn't like that. I experienced an amazing year in this class. At first I thought I wasn't going to make it but in the end it was all a breeze. By the time I was sitting in front of my exam on May 7th I felt relaxed because I knew I was well prepared.
The main sources that helped me get ready for the exam were mostly the Barron Cards, the mini-cram sheets, and my wing. The one thing I advice any student taking this course is to study the Vocabulary list for the year from day one. Study, study, study! Once you know your vocabulary you are set for each and every test thrown at you, being the AP exam or one of Mr. Jones's tests.
I thank Mr. Jones for well preparing me for the AP Exam and for allowing my peers and I to enjoy a wonderful year with him.

  54. Hey there. For me when I took the Psychology exam, I felt it much -much- easier than what I thought it would be. During the multiple choice part of the exam, I recognized nearly every single term they listed and was able to instantly eliminate a few of them as an answer choice. I think this was because the comination of the Baron's Cards, Study Packet, and the Baron's book that prepared me for the test. Overall I believe I passed the exam with as least a 3.

To the students: Before taking the exam, do -not- stress out. If you've been doing what you've been supposed to do the entire year then this will feel just like any other exam. I've seen many people stress out before the exam and after taking it, they would realize that they were stressing theirselves out for abosolutely no reason. I would recommend that everyone try this course because you will learn a lot of interesting information that you can easily relate to! With the combination of Mr. Jones' amazing teaching and a cool subjest like Psychology, this will be one course you will not regret taking!

  55. How's it going Psych Nation?
Well, let me start by saying that AP Psychology is and will be the Best AP class at Hallandale High. Out of all the AP Exams I have taken, I felt the most confident in this class. There's nothing to it but studying and paying attention. You have to have the attitude to pass the class and the Exam to do well! The most helpful thing that helped me were the Barron's Card. But of course, EVERYTHING Mr. Jones gave us was helpful. So make sure not to lose anything he gives you. Especially those Cram Sheets. Oh boy did they help! Well, Enjoy and Goodluck. Don't forget to "Execute or Expire" [:

  56. HEYY PSYCH NATION ! I want to start by saying that this AP class is the best class in Hallandale High. Not only do you have an amazing teacher that will teach everything he knows but you will also learn the most bizarre stuff about your mind and personality that you never new about. This class was the most interesting AP class i've ever taken. Mr. Jones gave me so much confident that i never new i have, he believed so much in his AP Soldiers, and that inspired me because he went the extra mile and got us BLACK WARRIORS pencils, we made an inspirational card, everything he did made us a better student, and i hope that the new Psych Soldiers to come will feel the same way.

Now for my AP exam. While i was taking my AP exam i felt confident and very nervous, not because i didn’t know what to do, but because i knew that i was prepared for this moment. I used a lot of things to help me remember everything in Psychology, but i would say that the Barron’s book and the study guides helped me most because the book gives you many examples to relate all terms to and the study guides gives an easy and straight up definition of what you need to know. So I hope that when you first get to the class and get your vocabulary, START STUDYING them all through the year because if you know them all, your guaranteed to pass the AP Psych Test. GOODLUCK to you all and hope you enjoy your year with Mr. Jones!

  57. The Ap exam was not bad at all. This AP exam differed from all others because i felt a lot more prepared for this one than my AP tests in the past. It was unlike english, math or biology because during this exam the energy in the room helped to boost my confidence and it felt as if we were doing the test as a group rather than individually. The study packet with key terms and key people was also a great help. I studied the packet and made notes on it. All in all, we were well prepared for this exam by Mr. Jones so if we didnt do well its not his fault because he did his best to prep us. I beliee i did well because I tried my hardest.

  58. Hey Psych Nation,
The AP test was not as difficult I thought it would be. The practice test Mr. Jones gave us were maybe harder. I noticed that I recognized most things on there. This class is a class that you can pass, other test might beee harder but as long as you study you'll do good. I think I studied pretty good. What helped me the most was the baron's card and the book, but when I got the super awesometastic packet that was heaven.
I think I did well because I tried.

  59. My AP Psychology testing experience was a little nerve recking but only because it was my first AP test ever. I wasn't sure on how the test would be or what type of challenge I would have but when I went into everything I was prepared. The test wont be easy if you don't apply yourself, and when I looked at the test I was confident because I knew a lot of the material. Things like the Barons Book and Cards are a major help along with the study packets that Mr. Jones will give out. At this moment I don't know what my score is but I am able to say that I am confident on it being high.

  60. Hey Psych Nation!

First off, let me say that AP Psychology will be the most interesting course you will ever take. It not only teaches you things you have never even thought of before but it also gives you a different view of life. You will see yourself maturing more and more as the year goes by. Learning things about yourself and others. During the course of the year, you will always be reminded by Mr. Jones that the AP Exam isn't far away. Don't worry though, he will be preparing you from start.. to end. The AP Psychology Barron's book and the Cram Sheet became my best friends when studying for the Exam. Never doubt yourself. Mr. Jones is always there to help you with whatever you need.

You'll realize once your taking your AP Exam, that you're not in it alone. You have the whole Psych Nation with you! Be confident in yourself because Mr. Jones and your peers are also confident in you. Black Warriors this year killed the AP Exam. So, when you're feeling overwhelmed. just remember you are never in this alone. You can do it!!

  61. Before the exam I was a bit nervous about how I would do, as I had actually began the exam I had become quite comfortable, and it turned out not to be as bad as I thought but definitely no walk in the park. Mr Jones is such an amazing guy I’m thankful he was my teacher, if it weren’t for Mr. Jones’ prescribed resources and methods of teaching I don’t think I would have even come close to thinking I may have a chance at passing. Through out the school year I relied on the Barrons book as my primary study source, as the test approached I focused more on using practice exams on quizlet and cram sheets Mr. Jones supplied us. In the end I gave it my all and I'm just happy to have had the pleasure of being exposed to some of the most interesting material I've ever seen in a course, I can genuinely say I've learned a lot. Thank you. :)

  63. I felt as though the AP test was hard. People kept saying that it was going to be vocab but it was a lot of critical thinking, the essays were hard. To prepare for the you should study hard and if you have a good teacher like Mr. jones you want have anything to worry about. Use your resources barrons book and cards and you will be ok.

  64. Hey Psych Nation :)
Well, AP Psychology has been my favorite course that I've taken my whole high school experience. Since the first day, it was pretty interesting to me and each day kept me wanting to learn more. Personally, I love learning about human behavior, human mind, and things of that nature, and you if you do too, this is the right course for you. I really enjoyed this class, and Mr Jones, made it even better, the way he teaches and the way he prepares you will leave you confident on the day of the exam, i guarantee. I can honestly say I was prepare because we were prepared very well for it with AP psychology cards, study sheets, and AP Baron's book, which i feel helped me the most. It was such a breeze and it has been the easiest test AP exam I've ever taken. As long as you're dedicated and interested in this course, I'm sure you'll do good, as well. Well, hope you enjoy it, and good luck!

  65. Um I Felt that the test was actually not that bad. As I was taking the test, I felt like I knew the information on the test and it was worth it taking this class this year. For me, what really worked was just using all the resources available to me, I didn't stick with just one source to study with I used the cards, the study packets, and I read the Barron's and Myers books. Mr. Jones slide shows were also a great source of information and a place to gain notes from.:) I remember on the day of the exam how all of us were just bunched up in the hallway by our testing room studying right up until the last moment...We really are Psych Nation...
